Getting to Villars-sur-Ollon & Gryon: trains, transfers and driving
Villars-sur-Ollon and Gryon sit roughly 90 minutes from Geneva Airport. This guide covers the direct train route, the mountain drive, and airport transfers.
Villars-sur-Ollon and Gryon are about 90 minutes from Geneva Airport (GVA). Both villages sit in the canton of Vaud in the Swiss Alps, and both are reachable by train, car, or private transfer.
By train
SBB trains serve Bex station from Geneva and Lausanne. At Bex, the historic Bex–Villars–Bretaye (BVB) cog railway climbs directly through Gryon and Villars up to the ski area at Bretaye. Total travel time from Geneva Airport is roughly 2 hours 15 minutes end-to-end, with a single change at Bex.
By car
From Geneva Airport, take the A9 motorway east toward Sion and exit at Bex (exit 17). From Bex the mountain road climbs about 12 km to Villars via Chesières; Gryon branches off after Bex on a parallel route. Winter tyres are required on the mountain sections between November and April.
By private transfer
Our team can pre-arrange a private transfer from Geneva Airport, Zurich Airport, or the local Bex railway station. Contact us with your flight details and we will confirm a fixed price and meeting point in advance.
Once you arrive
Both villages are compact and walkable. Free ski-season shuttles link the main lift stations, and the BVB train runs on a regular schedule year-round.
